Greetings from Carrboro,
I know it’s kinda obvious. But I still feel obligated to say it. This is patio season. Like, right now. This weekend. And in case dining al fresco has never been a part of your life, welcome to a serious upgrade.
Admittedly I’m biased. Working in a hot kitchen constantly inundated with bright, blue-toned lighting can make sitting by the fountain, drinking a glass of wine, feel like profound spiritual therapy. But regardless of what your workday is like, there’s something pretty magical about sharing a meal in the fresh air of spring. The world slows down. Conversations are better. People laugh more. I swear even the food tastes more delicious. The point being – you really should give it a try. Because you finished White Lotus, right?
And while I’m on about things that make life better, here’s another – parking decks. One in particular. The one catty-corner to the restaurant on Roberson St. It’s well lit, easily navigated, and just a stone’s throw from the restaurant. Did I say that it’s free in the evening and the entire weekend? Did I say how much I love the parking deck? Carrboro also got a serious upgrade.
This is the amazing part; you can take part in both of these wonderful things at the same time. It’s like mashed potatoes and gravy. Each has their own appeal but, boy-oh-boy, when you put the two together something really special happens. I promise.
This weekend @ Acme: soft shell crabs. Acme wedge salad. Fried oysters. Strawberry margaritas. Blackened salmon. Asparagus. Ribeye steak frites. Key lime pie. Big-eye tuna. Lamb country captain. Pimento cheese. Monkfish etouffee. Beef stroganoff. Calamari salad. Pan-seared diver scallops. 7 types of mimosas. Martinis. Buttermilk biscuits. Acme cornbread. Fried chicken. Raul’s gumbo. Grilled Caesar salad. Tomato Pie. Acme smashburgers. Strawberry & sweet biscuit shortcake. Hushpuppies. Waffles. Cinnamon rolls. Hot Donuts. I think you get the picture.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
The Staff at Acme
