Greetings from Carrboro,
Every hero needs a sidekick. No question. We all know that Batman would be toast without the Boy Wonder. Frodo certainly doesn’t get to Mount Doom if Samwise stays in the Shire. And Leia without R2-D2 would be a princess of a decidedly more tragic tale. It’s the nature of the beast. The moral of nearly every story seems to be that no one can do it alone. Just ask MacBeth.
Yes, that includes Santa. And, no, I’m not talking about Rudolph with his oh-so helpful red nose. In truth I’m not even talking about the chimney-diving, jolly old elf. I’m talking about the heroic soul careening down the aisle at World Market trying to find the perfect stocking stuffer for jaded teenagers. That Santa. The one that makes cookies and goes to every neighbor’s Christmas party and wants to slap anyone who nobly mentions work-life balance.
As our valiant Santa rushes headlong towards the big day – think Max plummeting down the mountain towards Whoville with the Grinch in tow – our little axiom about the fail rate of doing it alone inevitably rears its ugly head. The ever shortening calendar insists that something has to give. Period. Unless they’re lucky and our heroic Santa happens to have a sidekick to save the day. Just in, you know, the St. Nick-of-time.
That’s where we come in – Acme as holiday sidekick-for-hire. Let us take care of Christmas dinner. The whole kit and kaboodle. With the click of a few buttons the tumult of the Holidays ebbs and marvelous visions of sugar-plums can once again dance in your head. It’s easy and delicious. What more could you want? Other than those stocking stuffers. And, really, you want us to stick to cooking.
The Acme Christmas Feast To-Go. Pick-up is Saturday, December 24th, 11am – 1pm. Menu is below. No shopping. No cooking. Just more time with the people you love. So, let us be your Holiday sidekick. But please don’t ask us to wear tights and a cape. Definitely clashes with our aprons.
Tonight is the Acme Prime Rib Night for those looking for a delicious way to keep the cold at bay. It’s with all the fixings that you’d expect. Can’t think of a better way to get in the holiday spirit. And speaking of holiday spirit – our Southern aged eggnog will be unveiled this weekend. For those who’ve never had the real thing, Bourbon and Christmas seem to like each other. A lot.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
The Staff at Acme
