Clearly, there are two trains of thought. Either the calendar gods felt sorry for poor, short-changed February and gave it the extra quadrennial day or – my guess – they were decidedly misanthropic and felt that adding an April 31st or June 31st would just provide too much of a good thing to all of us lackadaisical hedonists. Because too much is, well, too much. And anyway, more days in ascetic February surely stiffens the spine and cleanses the soul.
Balderdash. Can I just say that getting too much of a good thing is kinda great? Except for that one time riding Thunder Road at Carowinds for a little over two hours straight? And honestly, that could even have been the fault of my pre-rollercoaster chili dog. But I digress. My point is that I’m not so concerned with too much of a good thing. Too little? Now, that does concern me.
So, to validate my point we’ve decided to extend our $10 Sunday Brunch extravaganza through April (excluding Easter Brunch*). Because it’s hard for me to believe that anyone could ever have too much deliciousness in their life. And I think that you’ll agree. It’s certainly about the best way imaginable to start your week. No matter what month it might be.
Mark your calendar. The next Cocktail Class at Atlas will be Sunday, March 10th, at 4pm. The focus of the class will be those cocktails that are attached to the branch of drinks called “flips.” These are drinks that utilize eggs to create texture and depth. It’s said that back in the day, none other than George Washington was a fan. The class will show off the decidedly more modern repertoire being served across the country circa 2024. Tickets for the class are $40. Snacks will be provided by Acme. And as with all classes, participants get to take home the featured cocktail glass.
Also, our next Tuesday Supper Club will be March 12th. The menu will be posted next Tuesday, the 5th, with tickets available at the same time. For those of you who have missed out on getting tickets, the Supper Club usually sells out in the first 48 – 72 hours.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
The Staff at Acme
* Easter Brunch reservations will be available online beginning Monday, March 4th at 10am.
