Greetings from Carrboro,
Is it a rite or right of spring? Depending on how you look at it, I’d say both. Because we have celebrated spring annually for quite a while now with our Rosé Soirée. And I’m not sure that summer can ever happen if there’s not a party to christen the new season of flip-flops, fireflies, and tomato sandwiches. And, dammit, everyone is entitled to some fabulous rosé this time of year. So, on Sunday, June 1st, we’re celebrating both. Because what would we do if there was a year with no tomato sandwiches?
The umpteenth annual Rosé Soirée. As with last year’s, we’ll kick things off at Atlas @ 4pm with untold bottles of pink wine, pink bubbly, pink, well, everything. With all the appropriate bites of deliciousness that a proper soirée requires – mini tomato pies, cucumber sandwiches, bacon and crab mac & cheese, fried shrimp po’boy sliders, and, yes, pink cake for dessert. Tickets for the rosé soirée are $36 (plus tax and service) and include the above snacks and pours of 5 of the pink libations. Important Soirée hack: always best to come with your squad. It’s just better that way.
And because we just couldn’t help ourselves, Atlas is throwing an All-Out 80s Party on Thursday (Friday, Jr.), June 5th. To clarify, 80s refers to, yes, the decade and, no, not the age group. It’s a night going back to the future so Carrboro can party like it’s 1999. In 2025. You get the picture. We’ll provide the cocktails & shooters, the taco salad and the French bread pizza, the MTV and the all-important soundtrack and leave the hairstyles and outfits completely to you. We’ll have a cereal bar for people who need a Booberry or Cinnamon Toast Crunch fix. And candy cigarettes for all the cool kids. Tickets are $40 (plus tax and service). And the party will start @ 5pm and last – to quote the inimitable Lionel Richie – all night long. There will be prizes for best dressed and serious props to anyone showing up in a Members Only jacket.
There are also still about 8 tickets remaining for our Wine Dinner this Wednesday evening with Oregon’s Four Graces Winery and their winemaker Tim Jones. It’s going to be a great night of food and wine. Especially for all the pinot fans out there. Tickets for the dinner are $75. The Menu is below. We’ll kick things off at 6:30pm with doors at 6pm. We’d love for you to join us.
And last but not least, tonight is our Monday Funday. Every entrée, every Monday is all of $15. I’m sure your Monday could use an upgrade.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
The Staff at Acme
