Greetings from Carrboro,
It couldn’t hurt. Really. The way I see it, anything that purports to provide a yearlong spate of health, luck, and wealth is worth a shot. You with me? And it’s not like you have to eat a bowl of fire ants or light your hair on fire to be the beneficiary of this magnanimous largess. Far from it. All that you have to do is eat something delicious. I know; life is hard.
You see, it’s a southern tradition. On New Year’s Day, all you have to do is eat a little black-eyed peas, collard greens, and pork to guarantee 365 days in the warm embrace of good karma. That’s sort of a Carrboro translation. But you know what I mean. And with New Year’s Day on Sunday, you’re already in luck. Acme will be open for brunch – 10am ’til 2pm – serving up plate after plate of health, wealth, and good fortune to all the Carrboro faithful. Of course, we’ll have plenty of other goodies on our menu for those not in need of a boon from the culinary gods. Bloody Marys and the like will start at noon for those who might be in need of a boon from a somewhat lesser – but oh-so-hangover-helpful – deity.
Needless to say, Acme will also be open for New Year’s Eve. We’ll have plenty of bubbly and oysters and other plates of deliciousness as we usher 2016 out the door. As with other big nights of the year, we recommend reservations but do not require them. Either way, it’ll be a great night. We hope that you can join us.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers and Happy New Year,
The Staff at Acme
