Greetings from Carrboro,

It’s a big week. Well, it’s a big week in the Acme-verse. There’s Mardi Gras stacked on Valentine’s Day with, well, Acme’s 20th Anniversary celebration just thrown in for good measure. Any one of those events would be enough to fill our dance card. But we do things big around here. Staff’s been deep in preparation – taking their vitamins, getting to bed early, flossing. So, if you’ve been a little Acme starved, this will be a helluva week to come in and take a big, juicy bite.

Tonight though Fat Tuesday (2/13), Acme is taking a little southern road trip to the Deep South. Gumbo, jambalaya, boudin, red beans & rice, king cake. Sazeracs, hurricanes, Ramos gin fizz, milk punch, vieux carrés. And, don’t worry one little bit – we’ve got plenty of beads and the right soundtrack. Basically, we’ve brought the French Quarter to town. Because, I mean, Carrboro is the Paris of the Piedmont…

And Valentine’s Day is, you know, Valentine’s Day. Enough said. We open at 5pmand close at 10. If you’re reservation challenged, our bar is always first come, first served. Either way, when you walk in the door we’ll make sure that you have a great time. That’s a promise.Acme, however, does not take responsibility for Cupid’s aim or accuracy. That’s on you. But we’ll keep our fingers crossed.

Then, Saturday, February 17th, Acme will celebrate our 20th anniversary with the oh-so-festive “Bash Out Back.” Cotton candy! Popcorn! Booze! Birthday cake! Starting at 8:30 that night, we’ll have a DJ, a dance floor, and a photo booth all set up under the heated big top built on the parking lot behind the restaurant. It’s going to be epic. The celebration is a fundraiser for our friends at the Be Loud! Sophie Foundation (www.beloudsophie.org). You can purchase tickets here. Or you can just drop by; tickets will be available at the door. Nothing would make us happier than having you join us. Because 20 years of Acme would not have happened without 20 years of people like you. And we want to say thanks. Satudays were made for this.
