Greetings from Carrboro,
No one’s going to stop you. I hope you know that. The decision to wholeheartedly put the “Labor” in Labor Day is completely your call. Certainly all of us agree that it’s barrels o’ fun to shop for groceries on a holiday weekend – especially in 2020. And even more fun to sit inside and work on a weekend when the weather is, well we won’t say perfect – but pretty damn close. In the end, it’s enough just to watch people have fun through the kitchen window because as we all know, virtue is its own reward. And really, vicarious cocktails are the best.
But just in case you feel like you’ve had your fair share of fun and frolic for summer 2020 and would rather abstain from all that happy holiday cooking, Acme is here for you. 100%. That’s what good neighbors do.
The Acme Labor Day BBQfest. Just for you, we cooked a hog overnight and are giving you three different ways to dive into the deliciousness. 1) Traditional NC-styled BBQ with slaw and buns. 2) Saigon-style banh mis with the smoked pork plus ham, banh mi rolls, pickled vegetables, and all the sauces. 3) Smoked pork carnitas with salsa roja, avocado cream, cilantro, lime, and onions, and fresh corn tortillas. Add to that pork extravaganza some Acme potato salad, Asian ramen salad with ginger and almonds, and a black bean, fresh corn, and heirloom tomato salad and you have a feast. Finish with an Oreo-crusted triple chocolate pie because, well, because you deserve it.
Orders can be placed here. The package is $80 and serves 2-4 people happily. And you can pick up at Acme between 11-1 on Saturday. Then enjoy whenever you like, however you like. Remember – no one’s going to stop you.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
