April 20th, 2026
Greetings from Carrboro,
I don’t know if a rom-com has ever won an Oscar. But I seriously doubt it. Just as I doubt that Emily in Paris is going to win an Emmy anytime soon. Or either will, you know, Outer Banks. Of course that’s not that I’ve personally ever watched them, um, or anything. The fact is, thankfully, that guilty pleasures rarely masquerade as something that they’re not – though I have heard certain people try to rationalize their Bridgerton addiction with high-minded hogwash. And don’t pretend that you don’t know who you are.
But you know what? That’s completely ok. Seriousness can be overrated – way, way overrated. Especially in April. Days are warm. Flowers bloom. In fact, it’s the only month where people can officially frolic. In public, at least. Because there’s certainly no frolicking allowed in September. And you can’t even say the word out loud in January.

So, to that end, we plan to frolic. Because it’s April, dammit. And it’s the 10th annual Rosé Soirée. Next Sunday, April 26th starting at 5pm @ Atlas. Tickets are $40. For those who’ve never been, it’s serious fun with deliciously unserious wines. Nobody makes rosé to win awards; they craft rosé to make friends. Because it’s fantastic and refreshing and screams SPRING at the top of its lungs. It’s a wine that almost comes with its own oh-so optimistic soundtrack the moment you open a bottle. If a glass or rosé doesn’t make you smile, go back to bed and start over.
The Soirée is almost the perfect Sunday. There will be at least eight different versions of rosé to sample, a ripping rosé sangria, rosé cocktails, snacks galore, a festive soundtrack, and cake, always cake. Like most guilty pleasures, the Rosé Soirée is better shared with like-minded accomplices; because it’s always good to have someone to blame. And, really, no one can honestly frolic by themselves.
So, I hope that you can join us. You’ll be very happy that you did.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The Staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
The Team at Atlas
