November 6th, 2026
Greetings from Carrboro,
Three weeks from yesterday. Let that sink in. Thanksgiving 2026. I can promise you that within the week, a person in your orbit will use “gobble, gobble” as a festive greeting. Generally speaking, it’ll be the person in your life who has the immaculately raked yard and the autumn-themed wreath. The guy with the Halloween decor still up — probably not so much.
Because it’s always one of those elite holiday athletes who provokes your inferiority complex. It’s like the people you see before a 10K race who run a warm-up “quick mile or two” while everyone else secretly prays just to finish.
But Thanksgiving doesn’t need to be that hard. Let me do you a favor and call you off that turkeypalooza ledge; suffering is completely optional — if you allow us to do the cooking. (Obviously, any holiday suffering due to, um, family is above our pay grade. We’re good, but not that good.) There’s no question that the moment you place that order, you’ll get a surge of holiday swagger that’ll rival good ol’ Ms. Gobble-Gobble.
Acme’s Southern Thanksgiving Takeout Feast — because you have better things to do.

For a moment, imagine the lengthy to-do list that you get to ball up and throw into the trash with that single click. You don’t have to slice a single onion. Not one. It’s a vacation from the stress of the holiday. You just get to decide how many pieces of pumpkin pie you’re going to eat.
So, yes, it’s very delicious. And, yes, you can buy all the pies and breads and sides that your heart desires. Pick-up is the day before — Wednesday, the 25th — between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Each meal serves two hungry souls. The price is $95 (not including tax or gratuity), and the menu is below.
The best gift you get this holiday may be the one you give yourself.
And while we’re on the subject of making the holidays considerably less stressful, the Italians figured this out a long time ago. On Thursday, 11/19, we’re having a class at Atlas on the Art of the Aperitivo — that lovely Italian institution built around the rather civilized idea that a drink and a few snacks make the transition from workday to evening considerably better. We’ll talk Turin, spritzes, snacks, and the many ways aperitivo deserves to be part of your holiday rhythm in 2026. The class starts at 5:30. Tickets are $37. Seats are very limited.

Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
