Greetings from Carrboro,
It’s a lot. There is, of course, the tree extravaganza. And the never-ending shopping. Then there’s cookies to bake, parties to oh-so-merrily attend, rambunctious children to nightly sedate. Not to mention the rest of your life that rushes forward towards the new year unabated. I get the sense that Rex – the dog in The Grinch – is so beloved because his chaotic descent into Whoville feels so remarkably familiar this time of year.
And god forbid you live in one of those neighborhoods that jumps on the luminary bandwagon. Because coming home at night from the maelstrom-that-is-December to find that your house is the sole portion of the street lacking said luminaries is the last thing you need. Especially when you realize that your Halloween decorations still populate the front yard. And even your dog looks at you with a sad-eyed, better-luck-next-year mien.
It doesn’t have to be that way; we can help. As this is the season of giving, we thought we’d join the fun. Starting tomorrow, and for the entire month of December, Acme is offering a 25% discount on food purchased to-go through our website. Because getting those luminaries out is a lot easier if you know dinner is already made and delicious. Basically, isn’t everything a lot easier when dinner is checked off the to-do list? You can turn fa-la-la into ooh-la-la with the click of a button.
All you need is the code, HOLIDAY25, when you check out. Then deliciousness awaits. Simple. And wonderful. Now, if only writing that Christmas card to your second cousin, Janet, was that easy. Sadly, we can’t help you there; our thing is food.
Acme’s Monday Funday is in full swing through the holidays. Every entree, every Monday, $15. It’s pretty clear, Monday’s are better here.
And our second cocktail class @ Atlas will be at 4pm on December 17th when we will deep dive into all the variants of a Manhattan replete with holiday-themed snacks. Not only do you get a lot of knowledge to take home, you get a cocktail glass as well. But no maids-a-milking. Sorry.
This weekend @ Acme: Shooting Point Oysters. Pecan-crusted fried chicken. Pan-seared sea scallops. Acme wedge salad. Forever roasted pig. Southern mushroom pie. Winter gumbo. Brussels sprouts with hot pepper jelly. Carolina shrimp cocktail. Chili-rubbed NY strip steaks. Acme smashburger. Spaghetti squash & arugula pesto. Pan-seared yellowfin tuna. Butterscotch pudding. Pork tomahawk chops. Oyster po’ boy sliders. Crab and artichoke dip. Overnight beef short ribs. Acme honey pie with preserved plums. Blackened salmon. Holiday cocktails. Acme’s classic cornbread. And brunch on Sunday. Welcome to delicious.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
The Staff at Acme
