Greetings from Carrboro,
Some things should clearly be left behind. Maybe ‘discarded’ is a better word. It’s something I struggle with. Obviously. Remnants of previous aspirations are strewn haphazardly throughout my daily life – little barbs of reminiscent guilt tucked away to unceremoniously surprise me when I stumble upon them. The dust-covered bike I bought in 2013 to ride to work lurking in the shed. The box of family photographs begging for my attention on the bottom shelf of the bookcase. The cute meditation app on my phone that I pay for but never use. The list could go on. And on.
But there are other things from the past – dammit – that I don’t want to leave behind. And, well, one of those things I’m very proud to say is roaring back to life this weekend. The Acme Weekend Brunch is back, 11am – 2pm. Hallelujah and pass the biscuits. It’s been nearly three years, but I promise that we haven’t forgotten how to make those buttermilk biscuits or bacon or Bloody Marys or any of the other delicious things that made our brunch such a Carrboro tradition for 20+ years. We’re even adding Saturday Brunch into the mix to make up for lost time. I can’t wait.
Speaking of traditions. Thanksgiving cometh! Sooneth! In just three weeks to be exact. And all of us at Acme are gearing up for the big day. Over one thousand pounds of turkey is no joke. And if you want to make this your easiest and most delicious Thanksgiving ever, all you have to do is click here. And then let us do the rest. Easy as pie (menu is below). Holiday shopping made simple. The only catch is that we will sell out at some point; we always do. It’s Thanksgiving without a worry. Excepting Aunt Clara. We can’t do anything about Aunt Clara. I’m pretty sure that family is the one thing that you can’t ever truly leave behind. No matter how hard we try. To that point, did I mention that you can also buy delicious wine from us?
Tonight is the Acme Almost Friday $15. Every entrée, every Thursday is a mere 15 bucks. Through the end of the month. So stop staring at that leftover Halloween candy and join us. You deserve something really delicious. The way we see it, the weekend starts tonight. And with such perfect weather all weekend, there really couldn’t be a better time to have dinner or brunch on the patio. Cross my heart.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
The Staff at Acme
