Some things transcend pandemics. And I’m not just talking about the, um, name of Elon Musk’s kid – though that is rather special. Or anything on TikTok. No. I’m talking about the oh-my-god, springtime deliciousness that is soft shell crab. It doesn’t get much better than that. Trust me. So, I figured we’d head down to New Orleans on our Staycation World Tour. After all, soft shell crabs just came into season. Why not? I mean, it’s fine if you want to stay home and drink bleach.
I’m talking about classic Big Easy. Soft shell crab po’boys, red beans & rice, cajun potato salad, and bourbon bread pudding with creme anglaise and whipped cream. Come on. We are not messing around here. Perfect Creole Tartar sauce? Check. The right bread flown up from New Orleans? Check. Mason jars of Hurricane sangria to wash down each perfect bite? Double check. With a righteous soundtrack, it’ll be hard not to laissez les bon temps rouler. You know it’s true – every weekend should be this delicious.
And wow. So many people responded with their culinary staycation dreams. Such wonderful stories. Heartbreaking, too. I sincerely hope that we are able to get to each and every destination on the Acme To-Go world tour. If you haven’t sent us your staycation fantasy, please do. We want to take you there.
