Greetings from Carrboro,
Drag Brunch is having a moment. To be clear to all my fellow southerners, Drag Brunch does not involve race tracks or funny cars or the NHRA. That would definitely be more of a Busch Light and Twinkies and nacho cheese kind of brunch. And, no, it’s also not a show on ESPN2. Personally, I can see how you might get confused because, well, Drag Brunch does have a track and, yes, people do cheer for their favorites. But you aren’t deaf afterwards or have to stand up for the National Anthem. And I promise that the food is wayyyy better.
Honestly, the main thing you need to know about Drag Brunch is that it’s an absolute blast. And that it’s coming this Saturday (yes Saturday!), August 31st to Acme. It’s a brunch buffet (menu below), mimosas, a DJ, and three amazing performers all for $35. Tickets for the event are available here. The party will get revved up at 11am. There are only a few tickets left. And as they say, if you snooze, you lose. All we ask is that everyone leave their inhibitions at the door.
There are also 8 seats left for our Vegetarian Wine Dinner tonight featuring glorious produce from the Carrboro Farmers’ Market. Five course and five wines. All for $60. Quite the deal. And quite delicious, if I do say so. Tickets for tonight are available through our website here. We will get started at 6:30. Summertime and the veggies are yummy.
All this Labor Day weekend @ Acme: pimento cheese smash burgers. Acme tomato plate. Pecan-crusted fried chicken. Spaghetti squash carbonara. Summertime risotto. Line-caught NC tuna. Watermelon sangria. Country fig handpie. Chili relleno. Forever roasted pig. Acme wedge salad. Shooting Point Oysters on the half shell. Bone-in ribeye steaks. Frogmore stew. Fried okra and shishito peppers. Blackened salmon. Hot three bean salad with house-cured pork belly. Really cold beer. Mountain apple crisp. Acme cornbread and angel biscuits. Southern tomato pie.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
The Staff at Acme
