Greetings from Carrboro,
The older I get, the pickier I get. I like certain socks. Certain
On the flip side, the cacophonous roar of mega-retailing doesn’t inspire my inner Santa. Having the bells jingling and those eight maids a-milking in early November can make me a tone-deaf shopper by the time the actual Christmas season appears on the horizon. Though I must admit, watching Die Hard with my eldest daughter last week did put a little ho-ho-ho in my step.
And I know that I’m not alone. It’s the shared hope to make the holiday better – not bigger – that we want in our collective stocking. And all the things that come with that: The time merrier. The shopping easier. The food yummier. Sounds good, huh? Well, to that end, I must say that Acme gift certificates fit right into that vision of Christmas cheer. You can send gifts from your bed. In those footed jammies. To everyone you love. Really, it’s that easy. But you can also get them at the restaurant. And for this week, for every $100 in gift certificates bought at the restaurant, we’re going to let you pick out a jar of our housemade pickles to take with you. Quite the delicious combo. Christmas in Carrboro. It’s a thing.
We’ve just had a few cancellations for our sold-out Seafood and Bubbly Dinner tomorrow night. 6 seats to be exact. Price for the dinner is $80 per person for the five-course meal with each course paired with some delicious bubbly. Menu is below. Reservations are required by phone – (919 929 2263). It’s one of my favorite meals of the year. I hope you can join us.
Acme will be open for Christmas Eve brunch as well as a special Christmas Eve Dinner from 4 – 9 pm this Sunday the 24th. Why not add visions of oysters and fried chicken to the Christmas Eve pantheon? Reservations heartily recommended for either meal. Just in case you forget, you deserve a great holiday.
Well, that’s all the news from Carrboro. The staff at Acme look forward to serving you soon.
Cheers,
The Staff at Acme
